This blend features a Toasted Burley plug cut tobacco as a base for extra cool and even smoking. The mixture is rounded out with premium Virginia leaf and Fire Cured Black tobacco.             King Charles - A blend of Latakia, Oriental & Virginian tobaccos made by J.F. Germain & Sons. 

            Kingfisher - A distinctive combination of zesty lemon Virginia, Burley, and Perique. All whole leaf is layered together then pressed in cakes until the blend of whole leaf are perfectly matured. Cut and spun to ribbon form, the ribbon is then pressed into cakes for a second time (Double Cut). Then we cut the cake into flake form and packaged in 2 oz tins achieving an even more exquisite finish as time passes. A light, sweet, mellow smoke, subtle and complex, with a flavor curve ranging from lightly zesty through richly satisfying.

            Latakia No. 1 - A hardy mixture with generous amounts of mountain grade Cyprian Latakia, blended with ample portions of Turkish Basma.             And so to bed - This mixture is absolutely ideal for the evening, ergo...we borrowed the name from the diaries of Samuel Pepys, Esquire. Finest grade Virginia and Maryland type tobaccos are carefully aged and blended with Greek "Oriental" leaf and top grade Cyprian Latakia. The blend is then specially processed and additionally matured to produce a mellow, full-strength smoke with rich flavour and unique aroma.

            Dorchester - A special formulation of six light Virginias, Golden and Dark Virginias, air-cured leaf and a pinch of Louisiana Perique. Easy burning is ensured by the carefully selected cut. The Perique balances the Virginias. A tobacco for the discerning palate.

Samuel Gawith

            1792 Flake - A full strength, mellow tobacco, comprising a blend of dark fired leaf. Our best-selling premium grade flake starts as 7 lbs of stripped leaf going through a steaming process prior to being pressed, the "cake" having been prepared, is wrapped in a selected leaf and packed by hand into a 12sq.in.press and left for a minimum of 2 hours. The next stage is to place the pressed "cake" into a steam press where it is baked at full heat for 2-3 hours. Once baked, the "cake" has taken on 1792s characteristic rich, dark color. The "cake" is then hardened by being left to cool. The final process of cutting the flake and adding a tonquin flavoring is carried out followed by hand wrapping and packing ready for the pipe.

            Commonwealth Mixture - This Bicentennial full strength blend of 50% heavily steamed Virginian and 50% Cyprus Latakia, gives honor to the Tobacco Lords
of Glasgow and the Commonwealth of Virginia which laid the foundation for the tobacco industry that built much of this country. The Commonwealth fulfills the desires of the demanding full flavored smokers.

            Full Virginia Flake - Manufactured in the same way as Best Brown, this choice Virginia leaf is steamed to pliable texture. Then through hand bundling the leafs are pressed, where they remain for two hours under about 80 pounds of pressure. Four hours of steaming and eight hours of cooling under the pressure of the steam press gives the rich brown color and full flavor to the delectable flake.

known by three people in the company. Using a combination of hand-stripped flue cured Zimbabwe leaf, Grousemoor is first steamed prior to being cut. After further steaming, to give Grousemoor its own golden color, the cut leaf is stoved and "rested." the final stage of production is the addition of a unique melange of flavors. Grousemoor is a must for smokers who want their days to have 'spring in the air'.  

             Perfection - Like many old world flavors, this blend was initially developed to satisfy the taste of a local tobacco connoisseur. This pipe smoker had searched the entirely of the Isle of Britain for a smoke that would satisfy his palate. By using a variety of brown and bright Virginias with a touch of Latakia and fine Turkish, Samuel Gawith steamed the leafs and added a flavoring of a hint of Vanilla to obtain what his fellow Cumbrian found to be a Perfection Mixture.

            Skiff Mixture Mild - For centuries the small sailing vessel or "skiff" was used for leisure as well as light transport of tobaccos (and other products) to the distant Lake District, by gently sailing on a light breeze, also known as a "skiff". The remote Samuel Gawith's "Kendal Brown" house, located on the Canal Head, relied on horses and skiffs for its livelihood. Pipe Club

            No. 1 - Virginia, Burley, Oriental, Cavendish and couble fermented fire cured Kentucky are blended, then long matured with a top flavoring of natural plum, vanilla and tonka essance (no coumarin).  Medium strength with full bouquet.

            No. 2 - Kentucky, Virginia, two types of Cavendish and spun cut disks of Virginia form the base and are flavored with caramel, honey, plum and vanilla. Mild taste, delicious aroma.

            No. 3 - Hard pressed for more than a month, then broken (ready rubbed) this premium Virginia cake has the flavors baked in, not added.  Cognac, orange and honey subtly transform the tobacco into a gourmet experience.  Mild, yet flavorful.

            No. 4 - A balanced blend of evenly cut Virginia, Burley, Cavendish and Oriental with a distinct flavor that combines malt whiskey, ginger, cherry and vanilla. Mild, delightful aroma.  

            No. 5 - Matured natural Virginia, Georgia Burley, Old Belt, and special black Cavendish in a classic aromatic blend, uniquely flavored with pure vanilla and coriander.
